CHALLEDU – inclusion | games | education is a non-profit organization that pioneers new models of learning, inclusion and engagement. CHALLEDU is one of the leading R&D experts in game-solutions for education and inclusion. Our team designs and implements playful experiences, games, formal and non-formal educational programs, tools, platforms and applications based on cross-sectoral, interdisciplinary approaches. We focus on 2 main sectors:
SOCIAL INCLUSION: The projects in this sector focus on inclusion and empowerment of marginalized groups, such as people with disabilities, people with health problems (i.e. dementia), older people, NEETs. The aims are: social inclusion, improved employability, development of skills and competencies, advocacy. The emphasis is given to create environments where people with different abilities, cultural backgrounds and skills, and different generations can interact with each other. The approaches in this sector involve non-formal and informal education, living labs, open co-creative workshops, game-based tools, and cross-sectoral approaches.
EDUCATION AND INNOVATION: We see education as a driver for positive societal, environmental, and innovative change. The projects developed in this sector focus on the promotion of entrepreneurship, STE(A)M education, civic and active citizenship, environmental challenges and agriculture, culture, and sustainable development. Our target groups include young people, adults, students, trainers and educators, professionals and institutions. Our approach encompasses forms of non-formal and informal education, game-based methodologies, role-model methodology, open-learning and digital tools, gamification, as well as cross-sectoral approaches.

Corporation for Succor and Care of Elderly and Disabled-FRODIZO is a non-profit organization, established in the Patras area in 2009 with volunteers from the health and social care sector promoting rights and general support. elderly people, patients with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease and their families. Frodizo is a member of the Hellenic Federation of Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders and the Association of Social Entities “Solidarity Pillars-Kostis Stefanopoulos”.

Since 1997, the Center for Special Education of Children & Adults with Disabilities (K.E.P.E.A.) “Horizontes”, contributes to the quality upgrade of the daily lives of People with Intellectual Disabilities and their families, providing lifelong education, weighted to their needs and desires, support in their independent living as well as integration services in the labor market. Having completed over twenty years of dedication and contribution in the field of Special Education, the organization have been operating since 2013, the Day Care and Day Care Center with a capacity of 104 People with Mental Disabilities, in the Municipality of Ilioupoli, where the organization has its headquarters. In 2018, proceeded to establish and operate the “Open Horizons-Mari Vrettos” Supported Living apartment, while, with social cooperative entrepreneurship initiatives, supports the work integration of People with Intellectual Disabilities as equal members of society.

NGO “Chance” (Bulgaria) is a non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting the social inclusion, rights, and well-being of people with intellectual disabilities. The organization actively contributes to policy development at local, regional, and European levels, advocates for inclusive social legislation, and supports the transition from institutional care to community-based services. Through education, training, employment support, sports participation, and awareness-raising campaigns, NGO Chance works to empower individuals with intellectual disabilities and foster a more inclusive and equitable society. The organization also participates in national and international projects aimed at enhancing the quality of services and opportunities available to its target groups.

YES WE CAN (Cyprus) is a non-profit organization based in Nicosia, Cyprus, dedicated to providing accessible and high-quality support services for children and adolescents, ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent families from accessing the assistance their children need. The organization works with children facing developmental, learning, and behavioral challenges, as well as those experiencing difficulties in group settings. It also supports adolescents with behavioral and educational challenges, offering motivation and alternative pathways for engagement and personal growth. Through its approved “YES WE CAN” programme, implemented in lower secondary schools, upper secondary schools, and technical schools under the supervision of the Ministry of Education and Culture, the organization promotes inclusion, empowerment, and equal opportunities for young people.
EduVita is an educational, cultural and intergenerational centre in the heart of Lecce, Southern Italy, founded in 2019. EduVita is a place of connection between past, present and future: they create learning opportunities to improve the quality of life of elderly and young people through intergenerational dialogue. NGO is active both locally and internationally, participating in Erasmus+ research and mobility programmes in the field of Adult Education. They focuses on pedagogical research, innovating teaching and learning processes, designing learning settings and developing new methodologies based on Adult Education and Intergenerational learning approaches.

DKI based in Ljubljana, Slovenia, is a non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting inclusion, equal opportunities, and the rights of children, young people, and adults with special needs. The organization supports the educational, social, and personal development of individuals with disabilities, as well as children and young people with typical development, fostering their successful participation in education and wider society. Through its activities in education, training, and sports, the organization actively contributes to the development of an inclusive culture and community. Recognized as a public-interest organization in the fields of education and sport, it was also granted the status of a disability organization in 2023, further strengthening its role in advancing inclusion and accessibility.
Lusófona University is one of the largest private higher education institutions in Portugal, with a strong commitment to interdisciplinary education, research, innovation, and societal impact. Bringing together students and researchers from diverse academic backgrounds, the university promotes knowledge creation that addresses contemporary social, cultural, technological, and environmental challenges. Through its close engagement with communities, public institutions, and industry partners, Lusófona fosters inclusive, applied, and internationally oriented research that contributes to sustainable development and social transformation. CICANT is a multidisciplinary research centre from Lusófona University dedicated to advancing knowledge at the intersection of communication, culture, media, and digital technologies. Recognised by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), CICANT develops innovative research that explores the social implications of media and technological change, with particular attention to inclusion, accessibility, participation, and digital citizenship. Through national and international collaborations, the centre contributes to evidence-based solutions that support more equitable, informed, and inclusive societies.
